02 – QUIEN SOY

Un día me cuestioné si mis nietos, el día de mañana, podrían decir quien había sido su abuela Carmen o su AbuC. Seguramente que podrían recordar las horas vividas pero, ¿hasta qué punto podrían decir que me habían conocido?  ¿Podrían opinar sobre mis gustos, mis anhelos, mis inquietudes, mi ideología, mis amores, etc. etc.? seguramente que no. A mi me había pasado lo mismo con respecto a mis abuelos y no quería que la historia se repitiera. ​

Luego surgió el cómo. Pensé en escribir una autobiografía, pero no soy muy buena para eso y entonces se me ocurrió hacer una autobiografía con fotografías. A partir de ese momento me aboqué a escanear los casi 17 años de fotos, vividos en Venezuela y que eran muchas. Después seguí por cuanta foto encontré, sin olvidar las de mis primeros tiempos en este mundo.

Gustavo me dijo que sería bueno que también escribiera lo que pensaba, así que acá estoy parloteando y tratando de ser coherente y ordenada, pero es difícil porque mis pensamientos se disparan y si no tengo cuidado, me voy por las ramas.

The idea for this website came to me one day as I asked myself a simple question: In the future will my grandchildren be able to say that they knew who their grandmother Carmen was? Surely they could remember the time lived together but will they be able to say they actually knew me? Will they be able to talk about my preferences, my accomplishments, my dreams, my past relationships and more? Of course not, because the same thing had happened to me with my grandparents.

After that I asked myself how I was gonna do it. I thought of writing an autobiography but unfortunately I’m not good at writing so I decided to make a summery of my life using mainly pictures and captions. From that moment on, I began scanning all the pictures I had on my computer ranging from the beginning moments of my life up to the 17 years of my life spent in Venezuela.

My son Gustavo then suggested that it would be a good idea to also write my feelings down on this website as well. So here I am, developing this website in hope to make it as coherent and entertaining as possible. A challenge I am overcoming in making this website is organizing all my thoughts and ideas making sure they flow clearly as my memories start to fade.
